About us

History

In April 2004 the police department was accommodated in a new premises in Koudum, which also houses the fire brigade and ambulance services. Late this year Janny purchased the former police station, which was next refurbished into a 9-room Bed & Breakfast accommodation. On 14 June 2005, the first guests were welcomed to Perruque.
In September 2007 Nico was a guest at Perruque, and Janny and Nico fell in love. Since then Nico, who works in railway and civil engineering, and Janny have run the B&B together; Nico in addition to his job and Janny full-time. In October 2010 the couple got married and are happy together!

Present

Perruque has come to stay in the Frisian southwestern area (also known as ‘Gaasterland'). Nico and Janny like an informal atmosphere and it shows. They are happy to make their guests feel at home. Guests have breakfast together at the large table in the central lounge; not alone or together at a separate table, but together with other guests. You may feel a little uncomfortable with this at first, but you'll find that it is much nicer to have breakfast together. Guests can also join the family for dinner. Nico and Janny love to cook and join the guests for dinner, though in the end YOU will join THEM!

Guest reviews are excellent, so it's clear that the couple are doing a great job. But why not see for yourself?
